There was just too much to be annoyed about with this book to have truly loved it, which bums me out because Mark and Quinn were electric together. Also, it kinda ends a little abruptly? I thought we would get to a cliffhanger type thing at the end with what is happening plot wise with the two spy agencies, but that isn't what happened.

I still loved them anyway, but there was barely any of the "vs" between them. Just tell the reader about it, no need to show every goddamn thing.Īnd as for the plot, I got it, but I was expecting more of a.adversarial relationship between Quinn and Mark? I mean, they had some moments, but.overall it didn't feel like a love/hate thing or a enemies to lovers thing at all, which the title and the blurb suggested it would be. I did not care to read full scenes about these other side characters and how they related to Mark or Quinn in the past. Also, did I need a full scene of flashbacks to what happened in the past with them? These were instances when it would have been just fine to tell instead of show. This story is about them, ya know? Ugh, it was just frustrating.Īlso, it repeated things a bit, like "that time on my birthday when Quinn sucked me off in the bathroom" like I didn't already know that? Uh, hello, I know what happened.

Also, it detailed Mark and Quinn's sexual encounters with others a few times, and fine, they're with others at first and before each other, I get that, but I don't need to read full on sex between them and other people. Because I kinda felt like.okay, I've already read this, I don't need to read it again, even if it is from a different POV. It kinda took me out of the story at times. Like, I love dual POV's as much as the next person, but it would give us events in on chapter from Mark's POV, or vice versa, and then the next chapter would be from the other's POV of the events of their day/days leading up to that event, but then that event from the other's POV. The period is your friend, pls use it.Īlso, I don't even know if this qualifies as a "happy for now" ending because they aren't even close to being together at the end? I mean, they are both in a "i want only you right now" place, but.this book spent a lot of pages and words on repeating itself. Like? Stop having them shout all the time.

There were so! many! exclamation! points! like there was even one point where it says they "whispered" something to the other but it ended with an exclamation point.

Okay, I was tempted to give this 4 stars because these two were HOT AF together and had crazy good chemistry and I lOVED their scenes together.
